Jackie Robinson was born January 31st, 1919. His legacy as the first black major league baseball player during the modern era, has changed the course of American history. Robinson joined the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. Robinson went on to win a plethora of awards. His life and legacy played a important role in the struggle for civil rights.
