My Mediumship of service ignites inquiry through the Dance, bridging a didactic quality of empowerment towards wholistic wellness and personal development. I am a 25 year Professional Teaching Artist, and Genealogist in field research of double-Louisiana heritage. Born in Oakland, CA on the cusp of the Civil Rights and Black Power movement weaves an inherit trek of activism into the Arts movement initiatives, I create, curate and direct.

From Communal ritual memorials or a Carnaval Parade to a Dance flash mob, I am inspired by Artistic mass movements with a united cause or purpose, driven to make positive impact.
Nzo Califa Dance Works’ motto “…where DANCE lives and SPIRIT moves.” in shared value of its mission, continues to provide select Dance-learning experiences, including programs of creative innovation steeped in African multi-cultural Dance traditions and legacy. Our signature project #nzoCALIFADancestory represents a 3-year trajectory invoking the story. It explores cultural pathways unearthing Ancestral histories, bridged with oral narratives, utilizing field-research, Technology through Genealogy. Our platform aims to invoke an International dialogue among African Diaspora Cultural keepers and stewards to learn more about their story through their Ancestor’s walk. #RiteOn
