I grew up in Sweden as a black girl insecure about everything from my name that people couldn’t pronounce, to my height (Swede’s tend to be tall), and of course, my complexion. Movements such as ‘Black Girls Rock’ weren’t around back then and now in my 30’s I’m determined to live out my life loud, and encourage other black beauties to do the same.
Growing up, the importance of obtaining a “stable” career was also instilled, which consequently gave me the opinion that anything in the arts could merely be a hobby. A lover of everything artsy, I now use my blog as an outlet, through entertainment news, to encourage and show women that pursuing your passion is worth every bit of risk because it’s when you’re walking in your purpose that you’ll feel the most fulfilled.
Be blessed!
